Intersocial’s approach to dealing with complex social issues involves:
- Capacity building of clients’ core staff to undertake the ongoing management of the projects once our involvement ceases. Utilization of in-country social, surveying, planning and architectural services where available
- Focusing on client-led transparent communication with impacted communities where possible, ensuring that consultation/negotiation bodies are representative so that agreements will be lasting
- Adherence to the IFC’s Policy and Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability and best practice in general
- Development of livelihood mitigation and other community development programs which are affordable to the client, and which improve the situation of the impacted people in a lasting way, while providing clear exit strategies
